What is a mother?
According to the Bible; She is worth far more than jewels. Her husband depends on her. He will never be poor. She does good for her husband all her life. She never causes him trouble. She is always gathering wool and flax and enjoys making things with her hands. She is like a ship from a faraway place. She brings home food from everywhere. She wakes up early in the morning, cooks food for her family, and gives the servants their share. She looks at land and buys it. She uses the money she has earned and plants a vineyard. She works very hard. She is strong and able to do all her work. She works late into the night to make sure her business earns a profit. She makes her own thread and weaves her own cloth. She always gives to the poor and helps those who need it. She does not worry about her family when it snows. She has given them all good, warm clothes. She makes sheets and spreads for the beds, and she wears clothes of fine linen. Her husband is a respected member of the city council, where he meets with the other leaders. She makes clothes and belts and sells them to the merchants. She is a strong person, and people respect her. She looks to the future with confidence. She speaks with wisdom and teaches others to be loving and kind. She oversees the care of her house. She is never lazy. Her children say good things about her. Her husband brags about her and says, “There are many good women, but you are the best.” Grace and beauty can fool you, but a woman who respects the Lord should be praised. Give her the reward she deserves. Praise her in public for what she has done.
Even tho we never truly reach this daily; the Word says He knows our hearts! So as long as our hearts are perusing HIM we’ll ALWAYS be the perfect mother for OUR family! God knew what He was doing and each family is just as it should be (even blended families were knit together perfectly by Papa) So, this Mother’s Day give yourself a gift! Give yourself some GRACE! Because you’re KILLING it mom and you too bonus mom, step mom, fill in mom, adopted mom, foster mom.m whatever kind of mom you are…and all the momsI missed…GEVE YOURSELF GRACE AND MERCY!! God does daily! We can give it to others but never ourselves! So try this year to be ok with our mistakes, they shape us. Admit to your faults, your kids don’t need to see you as perfect…..they need to see you as normal so they have a healthy level to aspire to. Love and use your flaws, they make you you! We see flaws….but I believe He sees gifts the enemy has twised to looks like umanagable defects! We are SOOO much more tho!!!
Apologise quickly for your mistakes and use them to show your family how The Lord uses our imperfections to perfect us and His love for us and others! Remember that perfect! Even Mary was flawed and she birthed THE SAVIOR of the world! Come on y’all! For real!
We HAVE GOT to stop holding our self up to these unrealistic standards! For one, I promise NO ONE else expects from you what you expect from you…not even God! And for two, when we model unrealistic behavior those around us (the ones we don’t realize are looking up to us as their example of how to walk right with Papa) also feel they need to and that begins the never ending cycle of striving for perfection!
So for your special day today give yourself TONS of grace mama!! ALL the mercy you can handle! And don’t forget to love YOU! Daddy does and so does you’re family! They would be a messy wreck without you! Don’t believe me? Go on strike for a week and see what your family looks like during that time! Better yet don’t lol just take a note of how many times “mom” is said in a day! YOU ARE MORE VALUABLE THAN YOU GIVE YOURSELF CREDIT FOR!!!!!
You are wonderfully and fearfully made and were knitted together in your mother’s womb! The creator of the universe breathed life into YOUR lungs so YOU could be the mother YOUR family needs! So embrace that and go rest in it today and everyday!!
God bless y’all!
Happy Mother’s Day!
