Testimony Tuesdays – Liz Faulk

Q: My first recollection of being in church was…

A: I was brought up in church when I was a little girl, but the only thing I can really remember was always going up front for special song request to sing “I’ll fly away” I would sing it every Sunday!

Q: The closest I have felt to God in my life was…

A: October of last year. When I finally surrendered everything to Him and accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior. I always feel close to Him now, but from that day my life has not been the same and I am so thankful that He left the 99 to bring me back home.

Q: The time I have felt the greatest doubt or distance from God was…

A: I would say all throughout my adolescent to adulthood up until last year. I was so caught up in self harming, drug/alcohol use, and sexual immortality as a teenager, and I didn’t really try to have any type of relationship with God as an adult. I would always question if I really belonged to God. There were many nights that I thought “if I die I know I’m going to hell.” I knew of God, but even with these thoughts and the way I was living I never really did anything about it because I was so “comfortable” and the enemy had me so convinced that I was living a “good life”, but I would always end up asking myself that question from time to time “Do I really belong to God?” and would just shake it off and continue my day. Until last year in October when I was at the lowest I had ever been and was more lost than ever.

Q: If I could thank God for just one incident in my life it would be? Why?

A: If I could thank God for just one incident in my life it would be October 15, 2021, it was a pivotal day. It was the day that I finally had enough courage to ask Daddy God if I truly belonged to Him and I asked for forgiveness, repented and accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior! Why? Because it was the day that I finally returned home and never questioned His love for me!

Q: If I could thank God for just one person in my faith journey it would be…..

A: This is hard because I can not just pick one person, but it is definitely my mama, and sister. And, why? They are the ones that keep me accountable, and have been by my side constantly praying and interceding for me.

Q: If I could name a turning point in my life for my relationship with God it would be….

A: I will always go back to October 15th, I would consider it the worst and best day of my life. And, why? Because I had no strength left to keep going and that day my Awesome Father came to rescue me.

Q: If I had to tell someone why I am a Christian I would have to say…

A: Because when I was so lost in the world He was always there watching over me and waiting so patiently for me to open the door of my heart to let Him in. Because He loves me so much that there is no number that can define the measure of His love for me, and by His mercy and grace He sent His only son to die for my sins. Little ole me out of billions and billions of people on this Earth. He thought of me. I could go on and on lol But giving my life to Daddy God and truly receiving His love has been the best decision of my life.
