You’re going on a cross-country trip. Airplane, train, bus, car, or bike?
So, if I’m going across country it really depends on the destination and company as to how I’m traveling.
I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE road trips, so most of the time I’m driving there! But if I’m alone I’d rather just fly. Road trips are more fun with good company.
I haven’t taken a train since I was a little girl and don’t have a fond memory of it but have always wanted to try again and travel via train again as an adult. It seems like a fun experience.
I haven’t been on a bus since 2004 on my way to ARMY Basic Training and it wasn’t unpleasant so I think it would be an ok way to travel if I was alone, but I’m not sure it would be a good way to road trip with more than one person.
So, basically, I have no one preferred method of travel, it really depends on so much. Cost can also be a factor, especially when I’m traveling alone. If it’s cheaper for me to fly or take a bus or train I’ll do it that way. With more than just me it becomes pretty pricey to fly so train and car become better options.
As you can probably tell, how I get there is almost as important to me as where I’m going. I put a lot of thought into how I’m getting there, almost as much as where I’m going and what we’re doing when we get there.
In conclusion, to me, the traveling part is every bit as important as the destination itself. There’s no one preferred method to get to and from, it all depends on the people going and the destination we are going to.
